Quantity guide
Full description
Coarse Jumbo Hair is a soft and voluminous high-temperature synthetic fiber, characterized by a distinct yaki texture. It offers good grip during processing and is particularly suitable for creating compact, uniform, and well-defined synthetic dreadlocks.
It can also be used for creative hairstyles, free-hanging strands, and styling that requires a moldable, flat-ironable, and brushable fiber. Before purchasing, it is important to consider that, being a high-temperature fiber, it does not behave like a low-temperature fiber during tip sealing.
Why choose Coarse Jumbo Hair
- Distinct yaki texture: offers greater grip and control during crochet work.
- Soft and voluminous: allows for the creation of compact dreadlocks without sacrificing a pleasant texture.
- High-temperature fiber: can be processed with controlled heat up to approximately 200°C.
- Flat-ironable and brushable: can be straightened or worked to achieve different textures and finishes.
- Wide range of colors: available in numerous monochromatic shades to create uniform sets or custom combinations.
Recommended uses
Coarse Jumbo Hair is particularly suitable for:
- handmade synthetic dreadlocks;
- crocheted dreadlocks;
- dreadlocks with free ends;
- crochet hair and creative work;
- hairstyles requiring volume and texture;
- styling with straightened, molded, or brushed fiber.
Format and technical characteristics
- Content: 1 pack of synthetic fiber
- Weight: approximately 100 g per pack
- Length: 24 inches, approximately 60 cm
- Texture: distinct yaki
- Type: high-temperature synthetic fiber
- Indicative maximum temperature: up to approximately 200°C with controlled use
Heat and processing
The fiber can be worked with a flat iron, hairdryer, steam, and hot water. The temperature should be chosen based on the desired result and increased gradually, avoiding starting directly at the maximum temperature.
Before working with the entire package, we always recommend performing a test on a small strand. Excessive temperatures, prolonged exposure times, or incompatible tools can deform, melt, or damage the fiber.
Important: tip sealing
Coarse Jumbo Hair is a high-temperature fiber. Therefore, the tips do not seal in hot water with the same ease and results as low-temperature fibers.
If you want to create classic braids with tips that close quickly using Hot Water Setting, we recommend choosing a low-temperature fiber. Coarse Hair is more suitable for handmade dreadlocks, free ends, and styles shaped with controlled heat.
Guide to recommended quantities
- Half head with 3 shaved sides: 2–3 packs
- Half head with 2 shaved sides or greater volume: 3–4 packs
- Full head: 5–6 packs
- Full head with extra volume: 6–7 packs
The quantities are indicative and may vary based on the length, thickness of the dreadlocks, density of the set, technique used, and desired volume. If in doubt, we recommend purchasing an additional package.
Colors and production batches
We do our best to accurately represent colors, textures, and details. However, the shade displayed may vary slightly depending on the screen, the lighting used for the photographs, and the production batch.
If you need to create a complete set or finish a project, we recommend purchasing all necessary packages at the same time. Purchases made at different times may come from different batches and show slight variations in shade.
